At least once a week our team receives a brief that ends with the words “we want a WOW effect”. Today, however, we offer you an OOOH effect! An original way to highlight your Out Of Home campaigns: 3D Anamorphic Art. An art made up of perspective illusions, trompe l’oeil, involvement and interactivity with the works themselves. Are you ready to make your events, your installations or your HQs unique and viral?
Dunkin Donuts - Smoothie
A 3D pavement art signed by Kurt Wenner for the promotion of Dunkin Donuts Smoothies made in Boston, USA.
Buick
Kurt Wenner is a 3D artist known for his lifelike street paintings and plaster murals around the world. When GM Buick’s luxury brand launched its new model, LaCrosse 2010, he wanted to come up with a memorable and original marketing move. Empire commissioned Kurt Wenner to paint beautiful 3D paintings of the 2010 LaCrosse model in major US cities. All the 3D paintings depicted the new Buick LaCrosse, against a fantastic background, symbolizing the location of the city where the painting was exhibited.
Spiderman - Universal Studios
Universal Studios Japan kicked off the 10th anniversary celebrations with the presentation of a 3D anamorphic art by Kurt Wenner. Featuring the Spiderman character, the artwork draws attention through a combination of the effects of anamorphic perspective and stereoscopic 3D. The combined impact of the two techniques is nothing short of surprising. And the rows of guests waiting to interact with the work, and their photos taken and shared on social networks, are proof of its success.
Legoland
Leon Keer, specialist in the art of Trompe l’Oeil, has created for Legoland – in Windsor, UK – a series of works inspired by the world of super heroes, with which visitors can interact by having themselves photographed creating optical illusions out of the ordinary.
Budweiser - Staples Center
A great location for an innovative experience!
This 3D mural, combined with virtual reality, was made for the Budweiser Staples Center AEG. Once the smartphone is pointed at the work of art, many basketballs start falling off the wall.
Dubai Canvas 4D
Leon Keer has once again managed to conceive an exciting optical illusion. One of his most recent works is a giant icosahedron sphere enclosed in a wooden frame mounted on stairs, which appears to be a three-dimensional projection. In reality, the sphere and stairs are printed directly onto the floor and two large walls, so if you stand right in front of the artwork, it feels like you’re on a platform that juts out into space.
Once upon a Time
Once upon a Time is an anamorphic mural with augmented reality, created by Leon Keer and Massina presented at the “Vibrations Urbaines Festival”, in Pessac in France. The optical illusion given by the painting is enriched and comes alive once we point the smartphone on it. The mural becomes real and turns into a 3D environment: the television turns on, the air conditioner blades start to spin and the pendulum starts to move.
